SUMMER CAMPS AND WORKSHOPS
PARTNERING WORKSHOP FIVE DAYS! Monday, June 11 – Friday, June 15 Level 1 – Ballet 3 & 4, 4:30-6:30pm Level 2 – Academy, 6:45-8:45pm $160 Mike Gosney will instruct students in the art of ballet partnering, including balances, turns, jumps, and lifts. Professional male dancers will be on hand to assist students as they practice their technique. MINI CAMPS SPACES FILL QUICKLY! Weeks of June 11, 18, 25, July 9, 16 Monday – Friday, 9:30am-12:00pm Ages 6-8 (as of 9/1/12) Taught by Associate Director Allison Volkers and DCE faculty member Wendy Park, Mini Camp takes the young dancer through an exciting narrative adventure. Inspired by a different story each week, the dancers build their own production using choreography, music, dramatic storytelling, set, and costume design. These camps fill quickly, so register soon for 1, 2, 3, 4, or 5 weeks! ACADEMY PREP INTENSIVE WITH PERFORMING COMPANY* Weeks of June 18 and 25: Monday – Thursday Week of July 2: M, Tu, Th, Fr (due to July 4 holiday) 9:15am-3:00pm For students coming out of Ballet 2B, 3, and 4 (or dancers with significant dance experience, ages 11 and up) $220/week with FREE Performing Company if registered for all three weeks This exciting Intensive challenges serious dancers to strengthen and refine their technique during summer vacation. Classes will be offered at two levels and will include Ballet, Pointe/Pointe Prep, Modern, Jazz, Musical Theater, and Strength and Flexibility. *Dancers who participate in all three weeks will be part of the Academy Prep Performing Company, and will have a new piece of choreography set on them for a performance on Friday, July 6th. SUMMER DANCE THEATER LIMITED ENROLLMENT Camp runs for three weeks: July 9-27 Monday – Friday, 8:45am-3:00pm For ages 8-12 (as of 9/1/12) $750 Join this ensemble of young artists and use dance, music, and theater to collaborate in the creation of an exciting, all-original production. Morning classes in Ballet, Modern, and Jazz prepare dancers for afternoons spent in theater games, choreography, and rehearsal. Dancers will develop an original dance and theater production to share in a final performance. WEEKLY CLASSES
FOR ALL LEVELS! June 18 – July 28 Keep moving over the summer! A variety of classes will be held for Primary, Student, Academy, and Adult levels, in Ballet, Modern, Jazz, Tap, and Hip Hop.
