MINI-CAMP for ages 6 and 7 (Must be 6 by September 1st, 2010) Monday-Friday 9:30 am - noon Cost: $150/one session $290/two sessions $420/three sessions $540/four sessions 4 ONE-WEEK CAMPS Session 1: June 14-18 Session 2: June 21-25 Session 3: June 28-July 2 Session 4: July 5-July 9 DCE faculty member Allison Kurtz will lead creative romps into new lands using dance, music, creative drama, arts and crafts. Each 1-week session will bring a tale to life through movement and storytelling and culminate in an informal performance for family and friends. Themes change each session so that students may participate in multiple camps. Limited to 16 dancers per session. Mini-Camp fills quickly, so register now! DANCE PERFORMANCE WORKSHOP for ages 8 - 12 (Must be 8 by 9/1/10) Monday - Friday 8:45 am - 3:00 pm 3-week camp, July 12 - 30, 2010 Cost: $895 Morning-only option also available. Call for details. Travel to the Kingdom of Wisdom and polish your port de bras along the way as Dance Performance Workshop explores Norton Juster?s novel, The Phantom Tollbooth! Dancers spend mornings with two levels of technique classes in ballet, modern, jazz, and hip-hop. Afternoons, led by Striding Lion artist-teachers Allison Kurtz and Annie Beserra, are spent breathing life into Milo, Tock, and King Azaz through dance, music, and theater, preparing for the final performance. Campers also take trips to the beach, Penny Park, and a professional production. ACADEMY PREP DANCE INTENSIVE for dancers who have completed levels 2B, 3, and 4 Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday Choose 1, 2 or 3 weeks, beginning June 21 Cost: $216 for 1 week, $600 for all 3 weeks Take your dancing to the next level! If you dream of one day taking Academy level classes at Dance Center Evanston, or are looking to impress your teachers in the fall, the Academy Prep Dance Intensive will guide you to amazing results by improving your technique, challenging your mind, and stretching your body. The weekly schedule may include: Stretch & Strength, Ballet, Pointe or Pointe Prep, Modern, Choreography, Jazz, and Musical Theater. Classes will be taught at two levels by DCE Academy level teachers. PARTNERING WORKSHOP For Boys 3, Ballet 3 and 4, and Academy level students 3-DAY WORKSHOP: June 15-17 Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday Level 1: 4:30-6:30 pm (For dancers who have completed one year of Ballet 3 or 4, or Boys 3) Level 2: 6:45 -8:45 pm (For dancers who have completed at least one year of Academy Ballet) Cost: $95 Mike Gosney (DCE Academy level ballet teacher, Director of Elements Contemporary Ballet) will instruct students in the art of Ballet Partnering, including balances, turns, jumps, and lifts. Professional male dancers will be on hand to assist students as they practice their technique. This workshop has two levels, and is perfect for both beginning and advanced partnering students. ACADEMY PROGRAM for advanced dancers Weekly Classes Six Weeks: Monday, June 21 - Saturday, July 31 Summer Academy classes are designed for Academy level dancers, DCE alums, and advanced adults.
